#SpringIntoAction Many of us carry around our past allowing it to enter into our daily lives. We bring it our in our daily conversations or it shows up through our attitudes. Even though the thing from the past may never have really existed, we give it the power to live inside us which prevents us from moving forward. Why do some us of take our past everywhere we go, causing an extra burden by towing it along behind us. The comfortable past is our "best friend". A warm and fuzzy bag of stories we enjoy taking out to share with our family, friends, and coworkers. It’s who and what we know best. Similar to that of a worn-out easy chair or an old pair of shoes that fits us and feels just right. God commands us, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:18) Even though the past cannot breathe, talk, think, or do; it is powerful enough to take over our present and future—if we let it. Yet no matter how painful our past may have been, we must choose to let go in order to get on with our future and simplify our lives. Each of us has a powerful choice. We have the ability to create our own simplified future by starting with a blank sheet of paper and a heart surrendered to God's will for our lives. Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. — Charles Dickens Choose to leave the past behind, and begin living a life filled with new possibilities!
