Ignorance is Bliss!
OR is it a veil creating a wall between you and what is true?
Ignorance has its place in life for awhile such as a child under the protective care of a parent; but...
when we grow inside as well as outside our mindset is more open to knowledge which brings awareness to the truth. Whatever idealizations we had about the world are erased by the facts of life, the way things really are — not the way we think they are or would like them to be.
There is no freedom in wishing!
Although the exposed truth can be a painful reality, it may set a person free in the long run. . You will no longer be a prisoner of hidden and naive. The truth frees you To bask in the know making choices and taking action during your journey..
Let the "Veil of Idealization" fall away to reveal the realities of life. Debra Vogel
Are you fleeing from your own success! ?
Your heart is racing and your palms are sweating as you watch the ride fly by while you wait in line for your a roller coaster ride. Will you face your fear and get on the ride? OR Are you going to sit on the sidelines and miss out on the thrill?
The same applies to the various areas of our lives ranging from jobs to relationships. We all have felt uneasy about a situation at one time or another and it is a common reaction to want to walk away letting the situation control us.
"Avoidance is Self-Sabotage"
Have you ever walked away from an important goal because it was just too hard to face your fears? I know I have.
"Avoidance Behaviors" stem from fear of rejection or failure and even our perception of perceived physical or mental pain. Although these fears seem very real in our minds they are "Irrational" because they don't pose a threat to our safety and are a result of the conditioning that we received in relation to our past experiences.
Finding out the cause of your anxiety and focusing on changing your response to your fears play an important role in overcoming fears allowing you to accomplishing your goals.
Enjoy a great experience by conquering your anxiety to "Pursue Opportunity"! Debra Vogel
Living in the Spirit of Excellence
Today we are so caught up in the perfection of the world that we are blinded to God’s excellence.
In the world’s eyes, greatness is measured by accomplishments, I like the refer to it as the "Competitive Battle"
Who has the highest score, the newest gadget, or who won the championships in regards to athletes. Anything less is average or a failure stemming from our perception of perfection. Godly excellence, in sharp contrast, is measured by stewardship. We put forth our best efforts in all situations with our talents, abilities, and resources which God has provided us. In essence, we strive to be "Christ Like" .
WARNING! There are not any shortcuts or magical formulas to renew our minds. The transformation process summons believers to fill our minds with God's Word in our pursuit towards excellence. We experience our best selves when replace the world's way of thinking And align our priorities, values, and motives with God's truth which is revealed through "His" Word in the Bible.
Remember its "Thy Kingdom come" and not "my kingdom come"
“Excellence is the process of becoming better than I once was. I am not to become better than someone else is or even like someone else.” Harold Best
#SpiritualSunday #PursuingPerfectionOrExcellence The 'Weight of Worldly Perfection' Does this sound familiar?
Sometimes we measure our worth with the success of our work,
We feel frustrated or depressed when things don't go as planned or when we have failed at something miserably,
Perhaps the thought of failure create stress or discourages you from exploring new horizons?
I am sure we all can relate to these thoughts, I surely can! I have fallen victim to those thoughts on more than one occasion allowing them to affect my decisions related to my well-being.
It is never a pleasant experience for ourselves or those around us when we don't separate our identity from what we do. It creates an unproductive environment of obsessing because our because our best is never enough which leads to frustration eventually puts a damper on our happiness and affecting our health.
When we have a mindset for excellence we strive to do our best, but don’t make it a personal matter if we don't achieve the results that we want because we know we are not in control, God is. We simply show up and focus on doing the best that we can and leave the rest in God’s hands.

Whose glory do you want on display?
Sometimes we neglect to do what we need to do out of for fear of not doing it perfectly. l have struggled with this on many occasions; I found that when I sought out my desire for the approval from others or I was afraid of failing were the fuel for my tendencies toward "Perfection."
On the other hand, We pursue God's glory in the quest for excellence instead of own;
we’re determined to do something as well as possible within a given set of talents, resources, and time limits ~.Excellence with God's glory!
The Lord gives a humbling contrast of man's glory with His own in Isaiah 40:6-8
This reminds us of the futility of seeking my glory over His, When we seek independence with perfection apart from
- the perfect work of Jesus, and the grace of God -
We struggle with the "imperfection" which breeds anxiety, frustration, anger, judgment, criticism, and even despair or hopelessness. This is not only exhausting but creates paralysis as well the neglect of necessary or good things "
God does not want perfection to keep us prisoner over its rule. The life God has given us is far better than the one we think we think we can run ourselves -
He created us! Let's truly receive grace.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us Hebrews 12:1
Run with the "Freedom of Excellence" for God Debra Vogel
SpiritualSunday #PursuitOfPerfectionOrExcellence I know "you" perfectionists are reading this; We all want to have that perfect life and job or to be that perfect manager, parent, as well as our perfect selves and the list goes on and on.... We are convinced that to be acceptable we need to measure up to a societal standard of perfection. This evolves from the fact that at an early age we learn that we need to get an "A" (whether we're capable of it or not) and anything less makes us unworthy. As a result, we associate failure with shame and humiliation rather than trying to do our very best and failing ~~ it’s better to give up all together.
It's called perfectionism, more common than we dare to admit.
Are you a Perfectionist?
Perfectionists are not only people who want to be perfect but have internal perfection monsters related to
* having unrealistic expectations and feeling frustrated when things don't go as planned or when they fail
* waiting for the "best time" to start; preparing themselves to do the work and they get lost in the detail because nothing is ever good enough which is why they find it hard to delegate responsibility
* thinking in black and white/all or nothing terms (i.e. If I’m not smart, I’m stupid)
The Perfectionist mindset brings stress and can only lead to discontent and it is only through practice and in doing our best that we reach excellency
To put it bluntly, "We cannot be perfect!" Yet many well-meaning people continue to strive in our own efforts for this unattainable goal for something that only God can do.
What Season are you experiencing?
Just as the earth cycles through spring leading into summer followed by fall and winter revisiting summer -- such is the nature of things in our lives.
We enter the happy season of summer where "all is well" followed by the endless waiting-for-something turning into a grinding season of "tests-and-trials" at-nearly-every-turn or perhaps a climate of spiritual warfare and the list could go on and on. It can be difficult to know how to live fully in Christ when we are in the midst of change during the the various seasons of our lives.
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
The Lord created seasons of diversity to get our attention in order to equip us with the tools we need to deal with life as well as to mold us into who He intended us to be. If you are ever going to be happy and really want to enjoy a "Life of Abundance in All Seasons" you must know how to handle the different "Seasons of Change" that you will encounter each and every minute of every day, week, month, and year.
Black and White is only in fairy tales, Not Life.
When we understand that the various seasons present opportunity requiring responsibility serving a purpose in life, you will appreciate God's grace towards you and the abundance that comes from the different situations. God has a plan for you and is with you at all times;
Enjoy the ride; God has a plan for you;
PLACE THE SEASONS OF YOUR LIFE IN GOD'S HANDS!
Your Struggles a Gift in Disguise
We are all too familiar with the struggles and hardships mixed with the wins and celebrations during our journey in life. During the "Darkness" we may not always view these experiences as favorable when we come face to face with illness or at the end of a relationship feeling pain and hurt or even betrayed by life itself we begin to question our circumstances..
I know what it is like to be in the "Depth of Darkness" having no hope of a slither of light shining through at the end of the tunnel when I was dealing with a herniated disc to being labeled as having auto immune disease to name a few.
When we are finding our way through the maze of darkness we basically have two choices: 1. Surrender to your circumstances.
2. Tap into the inner resources which you didn't know you had and come through it stronger and more humble than you were.
You are not your circumstances but something far greater.
It is the good and bad experiences ---- The Gift of the Struggle" --- in it's purest form which has the greatest impact in our lives shaking us to the very core; which brings us to our knees questioning the purpose of our lives and asks you to dig deeper into you and find the gold of who you are.
Let your "Struggles be your Strength"
Is Darkness Winning the Battle?, It's because light is not doing its job!
We all have light and darkness within and around us. Various circumstances and people in our lives affect us in different ways by bringing out our best qualities allowing us strive to be better individuals and pushing us to do our best. On the other hand, there are situations or people that bring out our worst qualities causing toxic and volatile energy which may end up holding us back or tearing us down.
I must admit, There have been times in my life when I have experienced overwhelm or I have felt as if "I am in over my head" causing my perception to become distorted as I formed irrational expectations on how a situation should work out. As a result, I didn't see the negative changes taking place in me by my surrounding environment and I lost myself with my light along with it.
Its seems as if we try to run from our darkness by suppressing it and pretending it doesn't exist. You will never fully appreciate the glow of your bright light without darkness. We must fuel our light by facing darkness head on accepting circumstances and who we are on our path to becoming our best "self" It is at that point that we are able to move forward with a light that shines brighter than we can ever imagine.
What sparks a light in your life to illuminate the world around you?
Bring Everything to Light!
Embrace Your Darkness!
In today's society, I believe the pressure to suppress negative feelings is alive and well.
Learning to connect to your "dark side" is equally essential for a fuller life experience. There are "Closets" in our lives which encompass buried feelings during our journey that we don't want to see: perhaps painful memories, past shame, disowned pieces such as anger and resentment and even the wounds of life. We pretend a lot not to notice or we hide our true feelings in order to avoid these aspects of ourselves. The "Power of Positivity" has a place in our day, but negative emotions must be addressed in order to find happiness..
In life there's no instruction manual providing details on how to deal with our feelings,
"Acceptance is the first step in dealing with "Darkness" ,
It does not involve trying to change the circumstances or how we feel, but taking them as they are which lead to:
*emotional resilience and fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety.
*positive mental health and higher levels of satisfaction in life making you happier
It is natural to feel bad sometimes as we fight with ourselves when feeling such as frustration anger or resentment appear. Accept these feelings knowing they are only temporary and you are in control through choice.
See the brighter and authentic YOU by Embracing your dark side!
