Dear Self, Today I will "Let my Light Shine"
Why do we want to hang onto something we are better off without?
Anytime you are going to grow, you need to lose something. Losing what you are hanging onto to keep you safe or even losing habits that you are comfortable with.
Sometimes we become the "real" us by getting lost after a major event occurs in our lives or when life doesn't allow our true colors to come through. We become re acquainted with the "real" us!
When a friend and I were chatting, I realized that the struggles that I had went through were related to boundaries and control. During that time, I was fortunate enough to understood the negative impact of perfection with the need to oversee every situation which was adversely affecting me physically.
I experienced freedom once I shifted my perception and released control with unrealistic boundaries. The burden of "overwhelm" was lifted so that I would be able to grow in areas of my life's purpose.
Nothing goes as planned, or the way you want it to go. The real you that has been waiting to come out will happen when your let go, open up, feel alive and become present. To be quite honest, that discouraged me and pushed me to the point of losing all hope and sense of direction. But, I didn’t let that stop me, I picked myself up and moved on. The most important lesson I learned while doing that was who I am!
